Junior Team Achieves Highest Global Ranking Among High Schools
PCTVS is proud to announce that its Academy of Finance (AOF) delivered an outstanding performance in the Annual Bloomberg Global Trading Challenge, standing out among 2,394 teams from around the world. After five weeks of real-time market analysis and decision-making, all four PCTVS teams ranked within the top 175 globally and the top 50 in North America, an exceptional accomplishment that reflects the program’s strength and the students’ hard work. Even more impressive, one of our teams earned the title of the highest-ranking high school team worldwide!
Leading the results was the PCTI junior team “Money Talks,” whose performance set a new benchmark for PCTVS in this year’s competition. The team ranked 29th globally and 7th in the North American region, placing them among the top performers in a field of 2,394 international teams. Most notably, Money Talks earned the distinction of being the highest-ranking high school team worldwide. Competing alongside university-level groups and international finance programs, the team demonstrated exceptional proficiency in market analysis, risk evaluation, and strategic decision-making throughout the five-week challenge. The Money Talks team included AOF junior students: Captain Matt Rodriguez Tremols, Melanie Reyes, Nasir Pazmino, and Matthew Marroquin.
Speaking about his team’s achievement, instructor Rich Glueck noted: “The ‘Money Talks’ team took a lot of time and effort to research different investment metrics to help make an educated guess on what stocks would be good investments. The students were eager to use the Bloomberg Terminals and do necessary research. Every member took ownership for their learning. That was most impressive. I have developed this little motto for them: ‘Money Talks, they let their investment results do the talking.’”
The senior teams also delivered strong results, demonstrating the depth and consistency of PCTVS’s finance program:
- MARK up the Ledger (Senior Team) – placed 16th in North America: Captain Christopher Iman, Josiah Bell-William, and Nicholas Gonzalez
- Market Masters (Senior Team) – placed 23rd in North America: Captain Giovanni Picnic, Akib Hussain, Kevin Acevedo, and Jerry Pena
- Bloomberg Ballers (Senior Team) – Placed 50th in North America: Captain Katherine Martinez, Shakira Hussain, and Natalia Feliz
These achievements also highlight the dedication of AOF instructors Nicole Modak and Rich Glueck, whose guidance and expertise help students understand complex market concepts and build confidence in making informed investment decisions. Reflecting on the team’s success, instructor Nicole Modak shared: “Watching my students successfully compete in the Bloomberg Global Trading Challenge has been incredibly inspiring, as their dedication and preparation truly shine through in their results. It’s especially rewarding to see them confidently apply the knowledge and skills they’ve gained in the Academy of Finance, turning classroom learning into real-world performance.”
Participation in the Bloomberg Global Trading Challenge gives students hands-on experience using the Bloomberg Terminal, the same professional platform used across the finance industry. Through this challenge, students strengthen critical thinking, teamwork, and decision-making skills while gaining early exposure to financial careers and tools that enhance their college and career readiness.
PCTVS congratulates all four teams for their outstanding performance and for demonstrating what’s possible when students are given the opportunity, support, and real-world tools to excel on a global stage.
