Nader Desouky is an exceptional student in PCTI’s STEM Academy, where he’s pursuing his passion for Computer Science. Drawn to the world of technology from a young age, Nader explained, “I’ve always had an interest in gaming, programming, and understanding how programs function. Technology has always fascinated me, so this path felt natural.” His curiosity and drive have fueled his success in one of the school’s most challenging academic programs.

Being named Student of the Month is a meaningful achievement for Nader. “It’s an honor. As an underclassman, I always looked up to the students who earned this recognition, and it became a goal of mine to reach that same level,” he said. His dedication is reflected in his impressive 4.3 GPA.

Beyond academics, Nader is deeply involved in both school and community activities. He participates in FBLA, SkillsUSA, and the Robotics Club, and is also a member of the wrestling team. In addition, he volunteers outside of school, broadening his leadership skills and sense of community engagement.

After graduation, Nader plans to attend a top university to pursue a degree in software engineering or a related field in computer and software development. His long-term goal is to continue learning and eventually build a career in technology, a field he’s deeply passionate about.

When asked what advice he’d give to younger students, Nader offered a thoughtful reminder: “Enjoy your time here, it really does go by fast. Make the most of every moment, get involved, and appreciate the people you meet along the way.”

Looking back on his time at PCTI STEM, Nader says the program played a major role in shaping who he is today. “Being part of PCTI STEM has given me a lot of opportunities and connections. It’s helped me grow both in character and in knowledge. I’ve become more confident, responsible, and prepared for what’s ahead,” he said.

Congratulations, Nader! Your curiosity, discipline, and leadership are paving the way for a bright future in technology.

Sibora Xhaferi is an outstanding student in PCTI’s Academy of Health and Medical Sciences, where she’s dedicated to exploring her passion for healthcare. “I’ve always wanted to be a doctor, and I felt this program would be a great introduction to healthcare,” Sibora shared. “I knew I’d really enjoy learning about the medical field in a hands-on way.” Her curiosity and compassion have driven her to excel both academically and personally within the program.

Earning the title of Student of the Month is a proud milestone for Sibora. “It feels great! It’s always exciting to be recognized for your hard work, and it really motivates me to keep pushing myself and working even harder,” she said. Her commitment to excellence shines through in her impressive 4.3 GPA.

Sibora is an active member of the PCTI community, balancing rigorous academics with a wide range of extracurricular activities. She participates in HOSA, the National Honor Society, the World Language Honor Society, and Gifted and Talented Upstanders, and also serves as a student ambassador. Outside of school, she volunteers at Hackensack Hospital, dances, and plays piano—having performed at Carnegie Hall this past spring—showcasing both her discipline and creativity.

After graduation, Sibora plans to pursue a bachelor’s degree in biochemistry and molecular biology, followed by medical school, with the goal of becoming an endocrinologist. Her ambition reflects both her intellectual curiosity and her commitment to improving lives through medicine.

When asked what advice she’d give to fellow students, Sibora offered words of encouragement: “Don’t be afraid to dream big. Go after what you want because you’re capable of more than you think.”

Reflecting on her time at PCTI, Sibora credits the school’s environment for shaping her confidence and resilience. “Being part of PCTI has really helped me grow. It’s such a supportive community that’s encouraged me to step out of my comfort zone, take on new challenges, and keep pushing toward my goals,” she said.

Congratulations, Sibora! Your determination, compassion, and drive for excellence are sure to take you far in the world of medicine.

Owen Alway is an exceptional student in PCTI’s School of Applied Engineering, specializing in Prototype, Machining, and Design. His program allows him to merge his love for science and math with hands-on craftsmanship—a combination that perfectly fits his creative and analytical mindset. “I chose it because it combines the technical side of math and science with hands-on experience using tools and machinery. It’s the perfect mix of creativity and precision, which I really enjoy,” Owen shared.

Earning the title of Student of the Month is a proud achievement for Owen. “It’s an honor. I’m very proud to be recognized as Student of the Month because it means I get to represent PCTI and all the hard work that students here put in every day,” he said. His dedication to excellence is reflected in his outstanding 4.2 GPA.

Owen is actively involved in several school organizations that reflect both his leadership and technical skills. He’s a member of the NJROTC unit, the National Honor Society, and NASA HUNCH, where he continues to challenge himself and grow as a student leader.

Outside the classroom, Owen enjoys spending time outdoors and exploring his creativity through wood carving. “I also spend a lot of time with my family, I have three siblings, so there’s always something going on,” he said with a smile.

Looking ahead, Owen plans to pursue a degree in marine engineering and obtain his unlimited Coast Guard license for engine operations. “I’m currently looking at the U.S. Naval Academy, the United States Merchant Marine Academy, and other maritime schools,” he explained. His long-term goal is to become a marine engineer, a career that combines his technical expertise with his passion for innovation.

When asked what advice he’d give to other students, Owen offered practical and motivating guidance: “My biggest piece of advice is to get involved. PCTI offers so many opportunities to explore your interests, so take advantage of them. Also, stay on top of your classwork, it’s something a lot of students struggle with, but it really makes a difference.”

Reflecting on his experience at PCTI, Owen credits his teachers and instructors for playing a major role in his personal and academic growth. “PCTI has connected me with great teachers and instructors who’ve helped guide me toward my goals. I’ve learned so much from them, not just academically, but about life and leadership too,” he said.
