We are thrilled to celebrate the incredible accomplishments of our 140 talented CTE students who represented PCTI in 66 competitions at this year’s SkillsUSA event! Their hard work, dedication, and impressive skills were truly inspiring, and we couldn’t be prouder of how they showcased the excellence of our school. This year, our students brought home a record-setting 48 medals, making this an unforgettable achievement for PCTI.
A special congratulations goes out to our first-place winners, who will now have the exciting opportunity to prepare for the SkillsUSA National Championships in Atlanta, Georgia, this June. These students have demonstrated outstanding abilities across a range of fields, from education and human services to culinary arts, computer science, business careers, and more.
In the culinary arts division, we are especially proud of our senior student, Michael Reyes, who took home first place. This marks a historic achievement as the first-ever PCTI student to win in SkillsUSA culinary arts, earning a well-deserved trip to nationals. Michael's win highlights not only his exceptional culinary talent but also his dedication and hard work. We couldn’t be prouder of this outstanding young man.
In the world of computer science, our students earned top honors in cyber security, while a group of entrepreneurs won first place for their innovative ideas. Both of these wins reflect the high level of training and preparation our students receive, setting them up for future success in these fast-growing fields.
In video production, our students earned first place for their creativity and technical expertise, demonstrating the strength of our media programs. Meanwhile, our health and medical students showed their skills in emergency medical technician and safety display competitions, earning top spots and proving their readiness to step into the real world.
Automotive technology also saw tremendous success, with students excelling in collision repair, and our cosmetology students impressed with their artistry. Finally, in criminal justice, our students took on the quiz bowl challenge, showcasing their knowledge and expertise in the field.
These incredible first-place winners are now gearing up for the national competition, where they will represent PCTI at the highest level. We’re excited to see what’s next for these bright, hardworking students, and we know they’ll continue to make us proud as they compete in Atlanta.
Their success is a testament to the excellence of our CTE programs and the dedication of both our students and staff. We are excited to continue supporting them on their journey and can’t wait to see all that they will accomplish in the months to come!
