Federal & State Programs (Title I)

Title I, Part A (Title I) of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act, as amended by the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESEA) provides financial assistance to local educational agencies (LEAs) and schools with high numbers or high percentages of children from low-income families to help ensure that all children meet challenging state academic standards.

PCTVS receives funding to help ensure that all students have a fair, equal, and significant opportunity to obtain a high quality education. Under Title I, the school, parents, and students work together as partners to achieve New Jersey’s academic standards. The School Parent Compact outlines the responsibilities of each of the involved parties and is available in both English and Spanish.

Furthermore, under Title I, educational programs, activities, and procedures will be planned and operated with meaningful consultation with parents of students. The PCTVS Board of Education Policy provides a description as to how PCTVS will maximize parental communication and involvement.

Ongoing input from families is vital to the success of the policy. Please complete this 2-question Parental Needs Assessment Survey to help PCTVS address the needs of our students and families. The survey is available in both English and Spanish. The Annual Title 1 Parent Survey also helps PCTVS to collect valuable information concerning how our district communicates to families. Please take a moment to offer your ideas to help us improve your child’s experiences.

For students who qualify, the Supplemental Educational Service (SES) is a Title I-funded program that provides free extra academic help to students in subjects such as Reading, Language Arts, and Math.
